The above is one of the sayings that I have come to find out the truth in. Perhaps, I would not have discovered this truth if I had not made the bold move to start my own online business – or take the steps that would later lead me to that realisation.
My first online business launched about a couple of years ago, and I was really excited to see it grow in leaps and bounds. Just to make sure I hit the ground running, I threw almost everything I had at this business.
Being an online business, it was just natural that I would see out experts who could help me gain more impressions, clicks and as well, conversions. This, unknown to me at the time, would be the start of my foray into an unexpected field.
I approached four different digital marketing companies with my requests on how to grow my business so my ideas are better connected with people who need such solutions.
These companies are great at what they do – at least, that’s what their portfolio said. It was, thus, surprising that none of them could deliver the kinds of results I wanted.
Don’t get me wrong. These companies did do their best to generate results – but they were not getting the kinds of results I was looking for. It didn’t take long to realize that no one might be able to help me.
No one but myself.
As you must have guessed, starting out in a field I knew practically nothing about was not as frightening as it was overwhelming. I was going to take on the same project which a team of experts from four different companies had failed to deliver on.
Turns out, the school of hard knocks was just where I was supposed to be.
After applying my newfound tactics on my personal business to a good report, I gained confidence in my skills. However, I needed to make sure I was not just a one-season wonder, so I tried my hands at other people’s businesses too.
If you haven’t guessed it yet, the results were outstanding.
Not only was I able to solve my own problems, but I could also take on the unique marketing and outreach requests of other businesses and deliver according to taste.
Out of this passion came I PRO DIGITAL MARKETING – a project I dedicated to helping businesses reach targeted customers across different niches.
